Alberta Health Services says it has confirmed multiple cases of measles in the Edmonton area.The health authority is warning that public exposure to the highly contagious disease may have occurred at two Edmonton locations last week.AHS says those who attended the Belle Rive Medicentres Family Health Care Clinic in the north end on Wednesday afternoon could have been exposed.
The former University of Waterloo, Ont., student who pleaded guilty to stabbing several people in a gender-studies class in 2023 was sentenced Monday to 11 years in prison. The judge said Geovanny Villalba-Aleman's actions constituted a "particularly grave hate crime," while the associate professor wounded in the attack said "work to cultivate inclusive spaces of belonging continues."
