U.S. President Donald Trump’s tariff threats on Canadian products, not to mention his planned tariffs on imported steel and aluminum, have sounded alarm bells in the Canadian auto sector. Experts warn that these costly tariffs could trigger work stoppages and supply chain disruptions. But what if our country could just build its own cars for Canadian consumers to purchase? He also founded Canada’s first program in automotive engineering and lead Canada’s national automotive research network from 2001 to 2015.
