In case you missed it, Prime Minister Mark Carney was officially sworn into office this morning. Shortly after the ceremony, he had a phone call with U.S. President Donald Trump, signaling the first of many conversations with America’s Big Cheese during a very tense trade war. And following his own meeting with U.S. officials, Ontario Premier Doug Ford suggested that Carney and Trump will have a 'better' relationship. What approach does Canada’s new leader need to take in order to make this relationship work? Kristy Cameron tackles today’s Question of the Day. And while no Canadian city will be immune to the impact of Trump’s tariffs, some economists say that Canada’s Capital might be better protected than others. We dig deeper with Richard Forbes, a Principal Economist at the Conference Board of Canada. Plus, after spending 11 days in American detention, a 35-year-old B.C. woman is being released by U.S. authorities. According to her family, Jasmine Mooney was caught by I.C.E. officials earlier this month after she attempted to enter America via Mexico. Immigration experts have issued a stern warning to all of America’s visitors, fearing that this case is being used as an example of what the White House will do if others try the same thing. We hear from Len Saunders, an immigration lawyer based in Blaine, Washington.
