Toronto school trustees vote against controversial fundraising proposal

The Toronto District School Board has voted against a controversial proposal to make it mandatory that a small percentage of fundraising money collected by school councils go to a common fund to help support schools in low-income areas.No other school board in Canada has adopted such a mandatory approach.
