We are just over one week away from U.S. President Trump’s next round of tariffs. Well, supposedly, they are arriving on Canada’s doorstep. This time, it’s a sweeping round of reciprocal tariffs, in addition to the already-implemented tariffs on Mexican and Canadian goods that were initially delayed by 30 days. And while America’s big cheese is declaring April 2nd ‘Liberation Day’, reports suggest he could take it easy on certain industries once again. Kristy Cameron digs deeper with Flavio Volpe, the President of the Automotive Parts Manufacturing Association. Shifting gears to Day 3 of the federal election campaign, the Conservatives and Liberals are pledging to implement tax cuts if elected into office. What exactly are they offering, and how does each plan benefit Canadians? Do they offer enough financial relief to the everyday Canadian? We pose that question to David MacDonald, a Senior Economist at the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives.

Daniela Lobo, a psychiatrist at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health in Toronto, has seen a worrying change in how some teenagers are playing video games.Some patients in her practice as young as 16 are using their savings to buy loot boxes, which are virtual goodie bags filled with weapons and other items, that draw them into activities that resemble gambling. Often times, they’re not aware of the similarities.“As people start to develop problems with it, there are increased conflicts at home, lower grades, people missing school [and] sleeping less,” Dr. Lobo said.
