The candidate nomination period for the 2025 Osgoode By-election has closed, 11 candidates were certified

The candidate nomination period for the City of Ottawa’s 2025 Osgoode By-election has closed, and 11 candidates were certified. The nomination period began on Thursday, March 27, 2025, and ended today, Friday, May 2, 2025, at 2 pm.  Certification of nominated candidates The City Clerk has examined the candidate nominations received to ensure they meet the requirements of the Municipal Elections Act, 1996, and, following this review, has certified each of the 11 candidate nominations. The list of certified candidates is available on ottawa.ca/vote and these names will appear on the ballot for the 2025 Osgoode By-election.  Voting Day is Monday, June 16, 2025. Registration process and deadline for third party advertisers An Ontario resident, corporation or trade union may register as a third party advertiser in person at the Elections Office by Friday, June 13, 2025, at 4:30 pm. To register as a third party advertiser in the 2025 Osgoode By-election, eligible persons or entities must:
  1. File a completed Notice of Registration - Third Party - Form 7.
  2. File a completed declaration of qualification signed by the individual or by a representative of the corporation or trade union, as the case may be.
  3. Provide proof of identity.
