Hour 3 of Ottawa Now for Wed. May 14th, 2025

May 14, 2025
For the second straight day, a pedestrian has been struck and killed by a vehicle in Canada’s Capital. How can we make our roadways safer for everyone? Kristy Cameron sifts through the textboard and tackles today’s Question of the Day. Meantime, the City of Ottawa is exploring the idea of a ‘bubble bylaw’, a piece of municipal legislation that would restrict the locations of lawful protests. If a demonstration is located near a school, a hospital, or a place of worship, organizers might be asked to pack up their belongings and move to a different location. Mayor Sutcliffe says he supports a balanced approach, and admits that this measure is just the beginning of a much broader process. Kitchissippi councillor Jeff Leiper hops on the program to illustrate his stance on the matter.
