Proposal aims at attracting research talent to Canada as U.S. science funding faces cuts

A group of leading research universities in Quebec has crafted a national plan to attract talent to Canada in response to political interference and cuts to science funding in the U.S.The Polaris Platform calls for hundreds of millions in government spending to attract 25 to 100 established research stars, up to 500 international PhD students, up to 300 post-doctoral fellows and funding support for up to 150 newly appointed professors.
