Fighter jets intercept civilian plane over Kananaskis during G7, RCMP says

RCMP say a civilian plane was intercepted after it entered restricted airspace over Kananaskis, Alta., while the G7 summit was taking place.
The Canadian Real Estate Association says home sales in May fell 4.3 per cent compared with a year ago, however activity picked up when compared to the previous month.Home sales rose 3.6 per cent from April, marking the first month-over-month increase at the national level in more than six months.

Toronto-based Aimia Inc. AIM-T says it has reached a settlement with the Canada Revenue Agency and expects a refund of about $27-million in connection with a 2013 income tax audit of former subsidiary Aeroplan Inc.The company says it plans to use the money to help buy back shares and for general working capital purposes.

Canadian housing starts were largely flat in May compared with April as a slight rise in groundbreaking in multiple unit urban homes was offset by a marginal drop in starts in single-family detached urban homes, national housing agency data showed on Monday.The seasonally adjusted annualized rate of housing starts was down 0.2 per cent at 279,510 units from a revised 280,181 units in April, the Canadian Mortgage and Housing Corp. said.
