Hour 2 of Ottawa Now for Thurs. June 12th, 2025
June 12, 2025

Have you ever been charged $1,500 on a water bill…for only 2 months of usage? That happened to Paul Malouin, an Ottawa senior resident who was completely taken aback when he saw the charges. It was the result of a leaky toilet in Paul’s home, according to the City of Ottawa, even though Paul says he couldn’t find any leaky toilets. But when it comes to future scenarios, an Ottawa city councillor wants to know if the municipality can automatically notify residents about high water consumption. Kanata South representative Allan Hubley pays us a visit in Hour 2. Then, we get some live reaction from the mighty CFRA Nation. Plus, after a nearly month-long coroner's inquest that looked into the circumstances of the 2019 Westboro bus crash, the City of Ottawa says it will examine the potential installation of driver-facing cameras on OC Transpo buses. We deliver the details as they become available. And finally, if you plan on heading down to LeBreton Flats on Canada Day, Pimisi Station will be open for business!
Nova Scotia officials says a wildfire near Musquodoboit Harbour is being held at about 0.3 square kilometres in size.
