Nova Scotia overhauls policing model with changes to records systems, staffing

Nova Scotia is transforming its policing model in response to the 2020 mass shooting that raised questions about how the RCMP handled the crisis and whether the national force could have done more to prevent the violent rampage that left 22 people dead.“Nova Scotians told us that the current policing model is not working,” the province’s Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Becky Druhan, said in a statement announcing six changes that were recommended by a provincial review committee to improve public safety.
