Toronto police investigating after body found near Highway 401 in Pickering

Toronto Police say officers found a body in Pickering early Friday and the homicide unit has been called in to investigate.
A forensic psychiatrist testified in an Ottawa courtroom this week that two sisters accused of murdering their mother in 2022 had been living in a chronic state of emotional distress before their alleged crime.

A British Columbia father and son are suing the Anglican Church of Canada, alleging the son was conceived as a result of sexual abuse by a female employee of St. Michael’s Indian Residential School in Alert Bay in the late 1960s. The lawsuit says the father was 14 years old when he was sexually assaulted by a school supervisor in 1968, and he settled a lawsuit with the church in 2008.
