O-Train Line 1 service adjustments during the period of September 26 to October 2

O-Train Line 1 service will be impacted at certain times between September 26 and October 2 to allow planned maintenance work.

Between Friday, September 26 and Thursday, October 2, Rideau Transit Maintenance (RTM) will be conducting maintenance work on O-Train Line 1. This work will require adjustments to evening Line 1 service, including an early closure of the full line on September 26 and multiple nights where service will be limited to one platform at certain stations after 11:30 pm.

For customers, this means that:

• On Friday, September 26, Line 1 will fully close at 8 pm. Full R1 service will run between Tunney’s Pasture and Blair stations
• After 11:30 pm on September 27, 29, 30, and October 1 and 2, Line 1 service will only be available on one platform at some stations. Line 1 service will continue to run in both directions between Tunney’s Pasture and Blair stations, but customers may experience slightly longer wait times. Signage will be in place at affected stations.

During this maintenance period, RTM will conduct various activities to ensure the long-term sustainability of the system and improve the service reliability of Line 1. This work includes:

• Rail replacement between Rideau and uOttawa stations
• Rail grinding across the entire system
• Ongoing upgrades of supporting cables (parafils) of the overhead catenary system, to make them more resilient and durable
• General station maintenance and seasonal cleaning

An additional closure of O-Train Line 1 is planned for maintenance work on the weekend of October 4 and 5, with details to follow.
