If you are taking part in Halloween trick-or-treating this year, the biggest fright of the night might be the price of a chocolate bar. Recent figures from Stats Canada showcase a 28.8 percent price increase for confectionery items, observed between August 2021 and August 2025. Over the past year alone, that increase was a staggering 6.3 percent. So as we head into the Halloween season, how super-scary is that price tag going to be?
