What Katy Perry and Sophie Grégoire have said since new Justin Trudeau relationship revealed

October 14, 2025

Katy Perry reportedly revealed more details about her budding romance with Justin Trudeau on Monday night.

The American pop star was performing at The O2 arena in London, England, for The Lifetimes Tour when she joked with fans about her relationship status.

“London, England, you’re like this on a Monday night after a whole day at work and a whole day at school? No wonder I fall for Englishmen all the time — but not anymore,” she said, The Sun reported .

In another on-stage moment from the same concert, a fan got down on one knee and proposed to Perry. It was captured in videos obtained by The Sun and TMZ . “I hear you’re single,” the fan said to the singer. “That’s interesting!” she responded.

“You really should have asked me about 48 hours ago,” she added.

Photos of Perry and Trudeau on the pop star’s yacht were published by the Daily Mail two days earlier, on Oct. 11. They appeared to be wearing bathing suits while holding each other and kissing on the boat, which was located off the coast of Santa Barbara, California, the Daily Mail reported .

Trudeau’s ex-wife, Sophie Grégoire Trudeau, with whom he shares three children, posted a video on social media on Oct. 13.

“Do you find that sometimes we forget that nothing we love was ever meant to be kept? The people, the places, even the moments that once felt — I don’t know — infinite, right? Time asks us to not cling to them,” she said. “And we do. I do. Because to hold on feels safer than to let go. But love was never about possession. It was always about presence.”

She also shared her thoughts in the caption, ending with: “Let yourself love what’s here, without trying to make it stay.”

However, there seemed to be no hard feelings at all between the former couple, who shared a meal together on Canadian Thanksgiving with family. They announced their separation in 2023, after an 18-year marriage. Together, they are co-parenting their children, Xavier, 18, Ella-Grace, 16, and Hadrian, 11.

On Monday, Grégoire Trudeau posted a photo of her ex-husband in an Instagram story, enjoying a traditional Thanksgiving feast. In a previous story, she wrote: “Luck to be alive, loved and most of all, with family for Thanksgiving!”

Perry and actor Orlando Bloom started dating in 2016 and confirmed their breakup in July, People Magazine reported . They were engaged, although they never got married , and share daughter Daisy Dove, 5.

Perry and Trudeau first turned heads when they dined at Montreal restaurant Le Violon in late July. Trudeau attended Perry’s concert days later at the Bell Centre with his daughter.

OTTAWA — Despite Ontario Premier Doug Ford saying it is time to “fight back” against U.S. tariffs and Prime Minister Mark Carney ruling out retaliation for now, both men claim they are on the “same page” when it comes to dealing with the Trump administration.
