Ottawa Now - OCDSB Trustee blasts province for cancelling livestreams of public board meetings

The recently-appointed OCDSB supervisor was in attendance for Wednesday’s public meeting, and he had to field a fair amount of questions from concerned parents. Back in June, when the province took control of Ottawa’s largest school board, Education Minister Paul Calandra appointed Robert Plamondon as the Main Supervisor. He has been tasked with restoring public confidence and stabilizing the board’s finances. Since then, Plamondon has nixed the controversial elementary program review, making limited statements and interview appearances to outline a path forward. We get the initial breakdown of Wednesday’s meeting from CTV’s Shaun Vardon. Then, we check in with OCDSB Trustee Lyra Evans, who is voicing her displeasure with the province’s decision to suspend the public meeting livestreams.
