Trump - A Roadmap of Hubris

February 22, 2025

The problem as I see it? We have lost the World War 2 generation. That once built-in muscle memory has passed away; so we have lost a real-life roadmap of how the global community can descend into 1930's Germany all over again.

When Trump voters and the far right talk about "peace," they actually mean the annexation of Taiwan by Beijing, the surrender of Ukraine to the Kremlin, and the use of "economic force" to turn Canada into the 51st state. Their hubris knows no bounds.

The annexation of Taiwan by Beijing isn’t peace; it’s China swallowing up a self-governing democracy, likely by force or coercion, to flex its regional muscle. When people say "Ukraine must negotiate with the Kremlin," what they actually mean is Russia rolling in, crushing resistance, and planting its flag. Peace for Moscow, sure, but subjugation for Ukrainians. Using "economic force" to turn Canada into the 51st state? That’s the United States dreaming of Manifest Destiny 2.0, strong-arming a sovereign neighbor into submission under the guise of "prosperity."

There’s an arrogance in assuming the U.S. can orchestrate global outcomes like some grand puppet master. The idea that we simple people are playing checkers while far-right conservative economic isolationists and culture warriors are playing a game of 4D Chess...

But let’s not kid ourselves: it’s not just an American game. China’s itching to dominate Taiwan, Russia’s playing conqueror in Ukraine, and the U.S. is just one empire among many, each cloaking their power grabs in noble-sounding words like “peace” and “prosperity.” It’s less about stars-and-stripes exceptionalism and more about a global sport of culture wars—hubris is practically the entry fee and it will always eventually bring you to your knees after it's carved up the planet into a series of fascist strongmen...The problem as I see it? We have lost the World War 2 generation. That once built-in muscle memory has passed away; so we have lost a real-life roadmap of how the global community can descend into 1930’s Germany all over again.

One thing is certain: everything Donald Trump touches turns to ash. Whether it's political allies, business ventures, or personal relationships, the outcome is always the same—misery for everyone involved. He doesn’t believe in negotiation, nor does he believe in right or wrong; Trump is purely a transactional figure, interested only in how he can personally accumulate more wealth. If he can’t find more personal gain within a public matter, he has no interest in it. An overwhelming majority of his disciples think you either win or lose—there is no compromise or negotiation with them. If you find yourself nodding in approval to the worldview of Trump, you too might suffer from the same psychopathic traits that he does.

Listening to Trump supporters talk about “their President” and the international wreckage he is creating is like watching praise being given to the Dear Leader in Pyongyang. It’s completely irrational and illogical. Which brings me to my last point: if Canada, Ukraine, and Taiwan are collapsed, who is next - South Korea?

I believe he wants to destroy the current world order, which is why attacking Canada makes sense as a first step, since a significant portion of our economy is interwoven with the US. Threatening us destabilizes everyone.

Trump isn’t dumb but he is clearly aligned with Russia now and therefore not an ally. Which is why I agree with another post you made here about the Five Eye’s cutting the US out. They are a security risk now. It would be foolish to continue to share top secret information with them.

In fact, I’d say it’s time we create a stand-alone defence plan for Canada to defend our shores and borders…
