Ottawa City Council is voting to reduce the speed limit on a section of Bank Street around the South Keys Shopping Centre. If passed, this proposal would decrease the speed limit from 60 kilometres per hour to 50 kilometres per hour. Advocates argue this idea would reduce the number of pedestrian deaths, thereby making the area much safer for pedestrians to access on a daily basis.
