We're hearing that there will be no severance pay for the employees losing their jobs but, lo and behold, there's a plan to give "retention bonuses" to upper management so that they don't look elsewhere during this shutdown, lest some miracle should happen to keep things open. Ontario’s police watchdog says a man was seriously injured when two Toronto police officers fired their guns at him after a traffic stop in the city’s north end Sunday night.The Special Investigations Unit says the incident happened around 11 p.m. after an officer made a traffic stop near Bathurst Street and Sheppard Avenue West.The SIU says there was an “interaction” and two officers discharged their firearms.
