Alberta is reporting three more confirmed cases of measles, including one in Calgary.Alberta Health Services says the individual in Calgary had visited nearby towns of Banff and Canmore while infectious earlier this month.The health authority is warning that residents of the two towns may have been exposed to the highly contagious disease if they attended specific locations.
A BC Ferries vessel had to be assisted into Horseshoe Bay in North Vancouver by a tugboat after suffering a mechanical failure at the end of the busy holiday weekend.The company says the problem with the Queen of Coquitlam’s pitch control has been repaired and testing was conducted before a possible return to service later Monday afternoon.BC Ferries says passengers and vehicles were off-loaded around 3:30 p.m., and the company hired three water taxis to shuttle travellers who were booked on other sailings.

A British Columbia city on Vancouver Island that’s hiring doctors as municipal employees is “very close” to hiring two more physicians, and its mayor believes it will eventually exceed its goal of hiring eight in total.Colwood Mayor Doug Kobayashi said Monday that the city-owned clinic currently has one doctor, and employment contracts are soon to be inked with two more, while a fourth is expected to be on board by September.Kobayashi said other cities are continuing to inquire about replicating its model, a first in Canada attempt to attract doctors by signing them on as city employees...
