The leaders of Canada’s major federal parties face off tonight in the second nationally televised debate of the
election campaign
. The English-language debate will be televised on Thursday at 7 p.m., just 24 hours after the leaders battled each other in the
French-language debate
.

while they competed with the Montreal Canadiens for francophones’ attention.
