A surprise Spring snowstorm is slamming straight into Canada’s Capital this weekend, with 10 to 15 centimetres of snow and up to 10 millimetres of freezing rain expected over the next 3 days. It all begins in a matter of hours, as the heavy snowfall arrives tonight and then drags into Saturday. Once that part of the storm has passed, the freezing rain batters the roads and highways on Sunday. We get the latest meteorological outlook from Environment Canada senior climatologist David Philips. Meantime, U.S. President Donald Trump says he had a productive phone call with Mark Carney, holding out hope that the Canada-U.S. relationship will persevere during the trade war. Canadian and American border agencies have worked with the RCMP to arrest a Vancouver man who was allegedly importing illegal firearms from the United States while sending small shipments of fentanyl to New York State.On Friday, B.C.’s specialized gang unit announced Jordan Tanner Dakota Treleaven, 32, was arrested the day before in Edmonton as part of an investigation it started in February with the Canada Border Services Agency into alleged importation of guns.
