Share your ideas for a greener and more resilient Ottawa

April 29, 2025
Do you have ideas on how the City can save money while improving services? The City is excited to officially launch the final theme of “Your city, your ideas,” a multi-phase service review initiative where you can share your ideas on how we can serve you better while finding innovative ways to save money that can be reinvested into other City priorities. This next theme, “A city that is green and resilient,” is open for input. Our resiliency is challenged every day by climate change as we continue to experience warmer, wetter and more unpredictable weather. How do we ensure we’re able to mitigate these changes and protect our environment at the same time? We hope to inspire ideas by highlighting examples of how the City is using innovation and collaboration to improve and streamline services, such as the City’s Bike Parking Strategy, eco-friendly buildings and emergency preparedness – with a special look at how we prepare for spring flooding. We’ve heard from Ottawa City Council, our partners, City staff and now we want to hear from you, our residents! Do you have ideas on how the City can serve you better and save money when it comes to the services that will make our city green and resilient? Head over to Engage Ottawa to participate. It’s your city, and your ideas! City of Ottawa Service Reviews Service reviews are an evaluation of an organization’s services to look for improvements to service delivery, efficiency and effectiveness. We want to harness the experience of our residents, who live in and contribute to our beautiful city every day. Our goal is to put any savings that are found from the service reviews towards the Term of Council priorities. These priorities focus on making our city an even better place to live, learn, work and play and envision an Ottawa that:
  • Has affordable housing and is more liveable for all
  • Is more connected with reliable, safe and accessible mobility options
  • Has a diversified and prosperous economy
  • Is green and resilient
We understand that each one of you brings unique perspectives and experiences to the table, and we want to tap into that diverse pool of knowledge. We’re looking for ideas on how we can offer services in a new and innovative way or how we can reduce costs. Your input will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our city, allowing us to prioritize projects, allocate resources effectively, and create a more sustainable and prosperous Ottawa for generations to come.
