Hour 3 of Ottawa Now for Thurs. May 1st, 2025

May 1, 2025
How do you beef up a cellphone ban in a school classroom? You don’t give any exemptions, or hand out any mid-day ‘breaks’. From the start of the day, until the final bell sounds, no students have access to their cellular devices. And it appears the Quebec government is eager to implement this approach as soon as possible. The enforcement of these rules, however, will be decided by each and every school. Should Ontario entertain this full-blown approach as well? Kristy Cameron sifts through the textboard and tackles today’s Question of the Day. Plus, the Battle of Ontario is resuming tonight, as the Ottawa Senators host the Toronto Maple Leafs for Game 6. If the Leafs get the job done, they advance to Round 2 and host the Florida Panthers. If Ottawa survives for a third straight tilt, we have a Game 7 in Toronto on Saturday night. CTV’s Jackie Perez does a Sens Army vibe check from the Canadian Tire Centre, as the team ups the ante with a couple of viewing parties. We also speak to a handful of bars and restaurants in Hour 3, as they prepare for the gameday rush.
