18 cases of measles reported in northern B.C., officials say

Health officials in British Columbia say there are 18 suspected and confirmed cases of measles in the northern region of the province as they continue to warn of the highly contagious disease circulating in a small community in the northeast.

For years, Ottawa city councillors put off a decision on a long-term garbage plan because their only options seemed too scary to contemplate. A new landfill to replace the city site on Trail Road would be expensive and politically unpopular wherever it was situated.
