National Day for Truth and Reconciliation schedule changes
The City of Ottawa would like to remind residents of the following schedule changes and City service impacts for National Day for Truth and Reconciliation on Tuesday, September 30.
Client Services
- The City’s 3-1-1 Contact Centre will be open for urgent matters only. Please visit ottawa.ca/311 to submit a service request online.
- All ServiceOttawa’s Client Services Centres, Provincial Offences and Administrative and Penalty System (APS) counters and phone lines will be closed. Counters are located at Ottawa City Hall (110 Laurier Avenue West), Ben Franklin Place (101 Centrepointe Drive), Orléans (255 Centrum Boulevard), Metcalfe Client Service Centre (8243 Victoria Street) and the City’s Provincial Offences Court at 100 Constellation Drive.
- The Business Licensing Centre at 735 Industrial Avenue will be closed.
- The City of Ottawa Spay and Neuter Clinic at 26 Concourse Gate will be closed.
- The City of Ottawa Archives and Gallery 112 at the James Bartleman Centre will be closed on Tuesday, September 30.
Green bin, recycling and garbage collection
- Curbside green bin, recycling, garbage and bulky item collection will follow the normal collection schedule on Tuesday, September 30.
- Residents can sign up to receive collection reminders and service alerts by email or phone call at ottawa.ca/CollectionCalendar.
- Collections of multi-residential recycling containers, bulky items and green bins will follow the normal collection schedule on Tuesday, September 30.
- The Trail Waste Facility Landfill will be open on Tuesday, September 30 from 9 am to 5 pm.
Parking
- All City parking regulations apply.
Transit Services
- OC Transpo bus and train service will run on a weekday schedule.
- Rural Shopper Route 302 will run.
- The Rideau Centre OC Transpo Customer Service Centre will be open on Tuesday, September 30 from 9:30 am to 9 pm.
- The OC Transpo Lost and Found at St-Laurent Station will be closed.
- Para Transpo:
- Para Transpo service will operate regular service on Tuesday, September 30.
- Regular bookings or recurring trips for Tuesday, September 30, will not be cancelled.
- Customers can book trips for National Day for Truth and Reconciliation starting Tuesday, September 23, by calling 613-560-5000 or using My Para Transpo.
- The reservations line and My Para Transpo will be open from 7 am to 5 pm.
- To get trip details and cancel a trip, the information and cancellation phone line will be open from 6 am to 12:30 am, and the text 57272 service (standard rates apply) will be open from 6 am to 9 pm.
- You can also get trip details and cancel trips anytime, 24/7, through the automated phone system or My Para Transpo.
- The Taxi Coupon line will be closed.
- Use the Travel Planner or Transit, the recommended app for OC Transpo customers, to plan your trip.

Recreation and cultural services
- All community, recreation and cultural facilities are open.
- The Barbara Ann Scott Gallery, City Hall Art Gallery and Karsh-Masson Gallery at City Hall will be closed on Tuesday, September 30.
Ottawa Public Health
- The Site program office and supervised consumption services at 179 Clarence Street will be closed. The Site mobile van will operate from 5 pm to 11:30 pm.
- Vaccination clinics and Neighbourhood Health and Wellness Hubs will be closed on Tuesday, September 30.
- The Sexual Health Clinic and satellite clinics will be closed.
- Dental clinics will be closed.
- The Parenting-In-Ottawa drop-ins will be closed on Tuesday, September 30.
- Connect with a registered nurse from Health811 for free, secure, and confidential health advice. Service is available in English and French, with translation support also offered in other languages.
- Our immunization program telephone line will be closed. You can update your child's immunization record using either the CANImmunize App or the Immunization Connect Ontario (ICON) Tool. For more information visit our Updating and Retrieving Immunizations web page.
Employment and Social Services
- All four Employment and Social Services offices will be closed on Tuesday, September 30:
- 370 Catherine Street
- 2339 Ogilvie Road
- 100 Constellation Drive
- 2020 Walkley Road
Municipal child care services
- All municipal child care centres will be closed on Tuesday, September 30.
Ottawa Public Library
- Seven OPL branches will be open on Tuesday, September 30 to provide a “National Day for Truth and Reconciliation Learning and Action Space.” The following branches will be open from 10 am to 5 pm:
- Beaverbrook, 2500 Campeau Drive
- Cumberland, 1599 Tenth Line Road
- Greenboro, 363 Lorry Greenberg Drive
- Main,120 Metcalfe Street
- Nepean Centrepointe,101 Centrepointe Drive
- Ruth E. Dickinson, 100 Malvern Drive
- St Laurent, 515 Côté Street
- InfoService will also be open to help clients via telephone, email or chat.
- Regular hours resume on Wednesday, October 1 at all library branches.
