Back in July, Ottawa city councillor Ariel Troster renewed her call for a ‘Vision Zero’ policy, which would ban right turns on red lights in Ottawa’s Downtown Core. The final straw was a collision between a car and a cyclist just outside of City Hall on July 30th, an incident in which Troster saw the aftermath. Today, the Centretown Community Association has sent an open letter to the Somerset councillor, voicing their support for a right-on-red ban in Centretown. Kristy Cameron opens the conversation with Marko Miljusevic, who is a board member with the Centretown Community Association. In between, she opens the phone lines and takes your calls. OTTAWA — With its next budget just a couple of weeks away, the Liberal government has received a lousy report card from a leading think tank for poor fiscal accountability.
In a report to be released Thursday, the federal government received a “D” grade in fiscal accountability from the C.D. Howe Institute because Ottawa lost hefty marks for lateness and a lack of transparency.
